sometimes the recession can be quite subtle, but at the moment, combined with the bleak cold spring, it feels all around me. I walked back from the football in paisley to the station today, a bitter wind blowing past empty shops and vacant lots. a proud town absolutely on its knees. hard times.
glasgow appears to be diminishing these days. Colder and darker. A chill wind blows from the East mostly, and faces become set hard in the cold blast
The empty shops of the city to my eyes sometimes command an austere and regretful aesthetic quality.
